As part of the Swachhta Hi Seva 2024 program, our Director of NRCB briefed the Diploma in Agriculture students from the Institute of Agriculture, TNAU, Vamban, Pudukottai, about cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene practices. These students actively participated in spreading awareness about Swachhta activities. We discussed biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste and their disposal practices to school children at Keerikalmedu Public School on September 18, 2024 (Wednesday). We also organized a coloring, speaking competition for the students. A total of 41 students participated actively (18 girls and 23 boys). The theme of the coloring and speaking competition was "Cleanliness in Day-to-Day Life." Finally we distributed prizes for the winning students. Most of the children paid close attention to the proper disposal of both decomposed and undecomposed materials and expressed interest in planting trees for a greener environment.
