Udhayam - in planta  Features  • A selection (ABB-Pisang Awak) similar to Karpuravalli.  • Crop duration is 15-16 months.  • Average bunch weight 37kg (potential yield up to 45 kg) (40% higher than Karpuravalli).  • Bunch is cylindrical with 13–15 hands and 15–20 fruits per hand. Fruits are elongate (14–16 cm).  • Fruits are less prone to damage in transit and suitable for long distance transportation. • Fruits are suitable for making value added products like banana fig, juice, wine, etc. due to high sugar content (TSS 30-320 Brix)   • Tolerant to Sigatoka leaf spot and nematodes. Kaveri Kalki  Features  • It is an exotic introduction (ITC 0659) belonging to ABB-Pisang Awak group. • It is short duration cultivar (12 months) and suitable for annual cropping system at high density planting (1050 plants/acre at 1.85mx1.85m spacing). • Dwarf statured, robust plants (2-2.4m) with short, erect leaves. • Average bunch weight is 17-20 kg with 13-15 hands and 16-8 fruits/hand.  • Reduced cost of cultivation as it needs no propping. • Fruits and flowers are highly suitable for preparing value added products like fig, chocolates and flower pickle. Kaveri Sugantham  Features  • A selection from somaclonal variant of tissue cultured Manoranjitham resistant to Fusarium wilt.  • Crop duration is 13-14 months. • Tall cultivar (4.9-5.2 m) with dark green pseudostem. • Compact, slightly angular bunch (18-22 kg) with 12-14 hands and 17-20 fingers / hand. • Fruits are dark green at maturity and yellowish green at ripening with creamy, juicy and sweet pulp having intense fragrance similar to that of Manoranjitham flowers.  • Owing to their unique flavor, fruits fetch a high price and are suitable for preparing ice cream.
