As part of the 19th “Parthenium Awareness Week” organized by ICAR-Directorate of Weed Science Research, Jabalpur, ICAR- National Research Centre Banana, Tiruchirappalli organized "Parthenium Awareness Program in the Research Farm premises on August16, 2024. The programme was attended by 60 school children from elementary and secondary school, Keerikalmedu, Tiruchirappalli, all the farm labourers, and the technical officers of this institute. The Director of ICAR-NRCB presided over the awareness program and engaged with the children. Throughout the session, schoolchildren, labourers, and technicians emphasized the significance of eradicating Parthenium from crop fields and vacant areas.All school children, technical, and labourers were actively involved and demonstrated interest in the eradicating Parthenium. Followed by a field visit was organized to demonstrate the level of parthenium infestation in fruit orchards and banana field.
