The ICAR - National Research Centre for Banana (NRCB) actively participated in the prestigious Mega "AGRI INTEX-2024" held from 11th to 15th July 2024 at the CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore. This agricultural extravaganza, organized by CODISSIA, witnessed an impressive footfall of approximately 1.5 lakh visitors, including farmers, entrepreneurs, officials, and the public from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka over five days.

The NRCB stall showcased an extensive collection of around 40 indigenous banana varieties from Tamil Nadu and other states. Additionally, visitors were introduced to 45 value- added banana products. The Honorable DG of ICAR, New Delhi, keenly explored the exhibits, spending valuable time in the stall to observe the NRCB technologies. The stall also hosted several other dignitaries, including ministers, collectors, and VIPs.

Dr. R. Selvarajan, the Director of ICAR-NRCB, expressed his belief that participating in such a mega exhibition could create awareness among farmers and the general public about bananas, their diverse range of products. Dr. C. Karpagam, Principal Scientist (Extension), emphasized that the Centre's participation in such a mega Agri Expo through extension approaches was instrumental in elevating visibility.
