A grand function was organized on 02.10.18 (F.N.) at ICAR-NRCBs’ Research Farm to celebrate 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The following Swachh Bharat activities were carried out by the ICAR-NRCB staff members (75 Nos.), nearby village peoples (70 Nos.) and School Children (20 Nos.);
1. Swachhta related drama, street plays, songs, speeches, slogans by school children
2. Sanitation practices like hand washing, safe handling of sprayers, clean habits, use of toilets, Field sanitations, etc. by school children, Scientists and Farm labourers.
3. Demonstration on segregation of solid wastes into biodegradable and non-biodegradable wastes by the Scientists, compost making, waste utilization, etc.
4. Administration of swachhta pledge in Tamil
5. Toilet pit digging activities for Research Farm staff
6. Distribution of cotton cloth bags to school children, Farm workers and village peoples
7. Distribution of T-Shirt containing Swachh Bharat logos/slogans
8. Cleaning of roads and office premises
