Mrs. Padma Raghunathan, Central General manager, NABARD, Chennai visited the Institute on 20th June 2019. The meeting was held with the purpose of identifying the areas where ICAR- NRCB and NABARD can make a handholding in the coming years. Mrs. Padma Raghunathan briefed about the various farmers-oriented programmes that could be tapped by the institute starting from infrastructure development to capacity building to the farmers. She also asked the institute to get fund from NABARD to bring out farmers friendly technology dissemination booklets in vernacular languages to cover the vast population. Funds for large scale demonstration of technologies was also discussed. Dr. S. Uma, Director, ICAR- NRCB, briefed the long association of institute with NABARD on various activities. She asked the CGM to consider for the Mega proposal from institute covering various aspects of technology dissemination and providing fund for strengthening the existing infrastructure facilities. All the scientists of the Institute and Mr. V. Rajaraman, District Development Manager, NABARD, Trichy also presented in the meeting. Later she and her team visited the lab and farm facilities of the Institute.
