Salient Research Achievements
(in bullets)
  • Documented several new disease reports of viral diseases (Orthotospoviruses, Potyviruses, Poleroviruses, Criniviruses, Begomoviruses, Tobamoviruses and Cucumber mosaic virus) on different horticultural crops including vegetables
  • Associated with the development of 5 varieties and hybrids of okra and sponge gourd
  • Established the LAMP assay for the quick detection of ToLCJoV virus causing leaf curl disease in solanaceous vegetables
  • Coat proteins of CaCV were expressed in bacterial system and produced polyclonal antisera for diagnosis
  • Developed IDM module for the management of viral diseases in bitter gourd, chilli, tomato and okra
