Current Institute Projects:
  1. Assessment of carbon sequestration, energy budgeting, biodiversity, and production potential of three different banana production ecosystems of tropical climate (PI)
  2. Crop Improvement of banana through conventional breeding (Co-PI)
  3. Development of clump management technology for enhanced productivity in banana (Co-PI)
  4. Organic banana farming for sustainable soil health and nutritional security (Co-PI)
  5. Developing integrated package of practices for export of selected commercial and GI tagged varieties of Indian Bananas (Co-PI)

  2. Identified selective herbicides for Fodder Sorghum, Cowpea, Bajra Napier Hybrid, and Egyptian Clover.
  3. An R-Package “Weed Indices” to calculate 11 different weed indices.
  4. KIFIX a new selective herbicide for imazethapyr tolerant rice
  5. Imazethapyr tolerant wheat variety for higher yield and efficient weed control
  6. Developed a low cost Mini-rhizotron for in-situ measurement of roots
  7. Spineless cactus as an alternate fodder crop for dry areas
  8. Canopeo and SamplePoint is a non-destructive method to estimate forage crops ground cover
  9. Identified low-cost methods for soil water holding capacity assessment
