Based on the request sent by Shir Bhagavant Khuba, Honorable Member of Parliament, Bidar constituency, the ICAR - National Research Centre for Banana, Tiruchirapalli in collaboration with College of Horticulture, UHS, Bidar, Karnataka organized one day "Banana Farmers' Interface Meeting" at CoH, Bidar on 27.4.2016. Dr. B.Padmanaban, Director Incharge, ICAR-NRCB, Tiruchirapalli presided over the function and Dr. SM. Shivaprakasha, Director of Extension, KVAFSU, Bidar was Chief Guest of the function. Dr. Vijayalakshmi, Professor of Horticulture, CoH, Bidar ; Dr. Ravi Deshmukh, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Bidar, Shri SM. Bargimath, Dy. Director of Horticulture, Bidar ; Shri D. Manjunath, Dy. Director of Horticulture, Kalburgi and Shri Suraj Patil, Progressive Farmer from Kamalapur were spoke in the meeting. The meeting was attended by about 80 farmers from Bidar / Kalburgi districts of Karnataka.

Dr. B.Padmanaban, Director Incharge, Dr. R.Thangavelu, Dr. KJ. Jeyabaskaran and Dr. V. Kumar, Principal Scientists from ICAR-NRC Banana, Tiruchirapalli participated and interacted with the farmers and enlighten the importance of banana cultivation in the area .
