Dr.S.Uma, Director, ICAR-NRCB, Trichy handing over the MoU to Mr. R. Ravindra, Dy. General Manager, APEDA, Bengaluru

ICAR - NRC Banana, Trichy and APEDA entered into MoU for the export of Nendran Banana to Dubai in partnership with M/s. Fair Exports India Ltd., Kochi through Sea port on 20-4-2017. Exporters like M/s. Aroma Banana; M/s. Ezhilan ; M/s. Madhur Banana and Mr. Dharmaraj, participated in this meeting. Dr. S.Uma, Director, ICAR-NRC Banana, Trichy and Mr. R. Ravindra, Dy. General Manager, APEDA, Bengaluru addressed the meeting. ICAR-NRCB Scientists Dr. R. Thangavelu, Dr. V. Kumar, Dr. KN. Shiva and Dr. P. Suresh Kumar are part of this consultancy project. This project intends to develop a sea protocol for the export of Nendran Bananas initially, followed by Ney Poovan, in the later part. Successful venture of Nendran export through sea would provide a great impetus for the export of Indian banana varieties to Gulf countries, U.K. and other European countries.
