In order to upgrade our Institute to ISO 9001: 2015 from the existing ISO 9001: 2008, as part of the continual improvement as stressed by the ISO and our strive to keep the systems in place and to follow the Quality Management Systems (QMS) procedures, ISO certification body auditors Mr. B. Karthikeyan, Director & Lead Auditor, Mr. V. Sivakumar, Auditor, Quest Certification (P) Ltd, Chennai visited the Institute on 21st April, 2018. In the opening meeting, Dr. S. Uma, Director, ICAR- NRCB, detailed the initiatives of the institute on corrective actions implemented on retrieval mechanism for training, consumer redressal and overall system maintenance. After visiting laboratories to check the good laboratory practices (GLP) and series of perusal of various records, documents and systems maintenance, the auditors recommended an award of ISO 9001:2015 certification to ICAR-NRC Banana, Trichy for its Research and development on Banana towards attaining livelihood and nutritional security. Mr. A.K. Ghosh, Consultant also presented during the event. Dr. P. Suresh Kumar, MR, ISO, proposed a vote of thanks.
